VANCOUVER Police are investigating a shooting on Wednesday night in the downtown core.

Officers responded around 7:50 p.m. to reports of shots fired near Homer Street and West Pender Street. When police arrived, they discovered a person with serious injuries.

The victim was taken to hospital and is receiving treatment.

Police investigators will remain in the area for several hours, and traffic may be disrupted.

No arrests have been made.
