ONTARIO’S Peel Police Central Robbery Bureau has arrested and charged a man in connection with an armed robbery at a LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) in Mississauga.
On Wednesday, November 12, at approximately 8:50 p.m., a male suspect entered the LCBO and approached the cashier. The suspect brandished a knife, pointed it toward the victim, and placed multiple bottles of liquor into a wheeled duffle bag before fleeing on foot with the stolen merchandise.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
A short time later, as a result of an efficient and coordinated response by frontline officers from 11 Division, the suspect was located and arrested. At the time of arrest, the accused was found in possession of the stolen property.
As a result of the investigation, Ajitpal Gill, a 25-year-old man of no fixed address, has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:
- Robbery
- Wear disguise with intent
- Breach of undertaking
- Breach of probation
- Theft under $5,000
Gill was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
