ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police officers from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are currently investigating the circumstances that led to a man being murdered.
On Friday, September 17, at approximately 8 p.m., two groups of men became involved in a disturbance in the area of Hull Street and Airport Road in the City of Mississauga. During this disturbance, two men were struck by gunshots, at which point the group involved in the disturbance fled the area. The two men were transported to area hospitals, where one of the men, a 21-year-old man from Brampton, died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
The second male was treated and later released from hospital.
A third male involved in the disturbance was treated by paramedics for a non-gunshot related injury, transported to a hospital for further treatment and later released.
“Gun violence carries tragic outcomes which will not be tolerated by our community or our service,” said Nick Milinovich, Deputy Chief of Investigations and Emergency Services. “We will be relentless in our pursuit to of those responsible for this incident. Similarly, we are committed to working with our communities to prevent other tragedies from occurring.”
On Saturday, September 18, investigators arrested Jastaran Sandhu, 18, of Mississauga. He has been charged with first-degree murder and was appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
