ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police officers from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) executed search warrants at a Brampton residence, resulting in an arrest and multiple criminal charges.
Over the past year, Peel Regional Police said they have responded to numerous incidents involving firearms at a residence in the area of Conservation Drive and Dawnridge Trail in Brampton. These occurrences have posed significant risks to community safety and raised ongoing concerns of violence in nearby neighbourhoods.
Following proactive efforts to address these concerns, investigators obtained search warrants for this residence.
On November 12, officers executed the warrants and arrested 37-year-old Tejinder Singh Kahlon, who was held for a bail hearing and charged with the following offences:
- Breach of probation
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device of ammunition
- Intentionally discharge a firearm recklessly
Peel Police said that to protect the ongoing efforts of investigators, no further information can be released at this time. They said they recognize that incidents of this nature understandably cause significant concern and distress within the community. They added they remain fully committed to taking all actions within their authority and ensuring that all individuals involved are held accountable in accordance with the law.
