ABBOTSFORD Police said that at approximately 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday, their patrol officers responded to the 31000-block of King Road following a report of bullet holes in the front window of a business in the area.

Officers confirmed that a shooting had occurred in the early morning hours. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the business was closed at the time of the incident.

Investigators are working closely with the business owners to determine the motive of this incident, which remains unclear, police said.

The business is a repair shop for trucks and trailers, according to reports.

Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance. If you were in the area of King Road between Townline Road and Clearbrook Road and observed suspicious activity or have dashcam footage between midnight and 4 a.m., you are requested to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.

MEANWHILE, Abbotsford Police Chief Constable Colin Watson said in a message on X: “Our community has experienced deeply concerning acts of violence in recent weeks, including targeted shootings and a recent homicide. These crimes are unacceptable, and AbbyPD remains fully committed to holding those responsible accountable and preventing further harm.

“The Abbotsford Police Department is actively working to reduce violence through a comprehensive approach that includes strong collaboration with partner agencies at the local, provincial, and federal levels.

“While we strive to keep the public informed, there are times when investigative priorities require discretion. We ask for your understanding as we balance transparency with the need to protect the integrity of ongoing investigations.

“During this time, we encourage the community to avoid speculation and assumptions, and to treat information shared online as potentially inaccurate unless it comes directly from official AbbyPD channels.

“Our mission is clear: to keep Abbotsford safe, guided by our core value of Strength in Community. Together, we will continue working to bring those responsible for these crimes to justice. Thank you for your trust and ongoing support.”
