A suspect has been arrested by Vancouver Police and charged with aggravated assaulted for allegedly slashing another man’s face with a knife at a Yaletown nightclub last night.

Vancouver Police responded just before 3 a.m. on Monday, December 29 to reports of an assault inside a nightclub near Nelson Street and Hamilton Street. Witnesses intervened and rendered first aid to the victim, prior to police arrival.

Vancouver Police arrested a suspect outside the nightclub.

The victim received treatment in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not believe the incident was random.

Delta resident Paramveer Singh Jhooti, 31, has now been charged with one count of aggravated assault. Jhooti remains in police custody.
