Pedestrian seriously injured in Richmond collision

RICHMOND RCMP are seeking witnesses to a collision that resulted in serious injuries to a pedestrian.

On Monday, November 4 at approximately 8:45 a.m., police attended No. 2 Road and Steveston Highway for a collision involving a dump truck and pedestrian.

According to a witness, the pedestrian was walking westbound in the crosswalk on No. 2 Road at Steveston Highway when she was struck by the dump truck which was turning northbound onto No. 2 Road from Steveston Highway.

The pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was transported to a local area hospital, where she remains.

Richmond RCMP Criminal Collision Investigative Team with the assistance of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) and CVSE, attended and processed the scene.

Neither speed nor impairment are considered factors in this collision.

The Richmond RCMP CCIT is seeking witnesses or dash cam footage from anyone who was in the area of No. 2 Road and Steveston Highway between 8:30 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. on November 4. Anyone who may have witnessed or have dash cam footage of this collision, is asked to call Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file number 2024-34972.
