Pedestrian suffers life-altering injuries in hit-and-run in Surrey

ON Wednesday, September 11 at approximately 7:55 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the area of 124 Street and 68 Avenue. Officers located a male pedestrian who was transported to hospital with life-altering injuries.

The vehicle involved, later determined to be a 2021 black Kia Sportage, had fled the scene of the collision; however, officers were able to locate the vehicle a short time later.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) assumed conduct of this investigation and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) was called in to assist.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the events and any contributing factors that led up to this collision.
