PRABNOOR Kaur Grewal last weekend won the silver medal in the BC long track speed skating (under 12 years) event in Fort St. John.

Kamalpreet Kaur Baga, Principal, Khalsa School Surrey (Old Yale Road Campus), said that Prabnoor brought honor to their school and the community. “This achievement marks her as the first Punjabi Sikh athlete in BC’s history of long track winter sport,” she added.

Prabhnoor is a Grade 6 student at the school and has been an honor roll student since Grade 4. Her father and mother have played a very important roll in this success, said Baga.

Prabhnoor has also won third position in the B.C. Regional Spelling Bee Championship twice consecutively. She will be welcomed at the school on Tuesday (January 22) with a welcome banner by the student council, teachers and the administration and a special assembly will be held in the gym for students where special announcements will be made, said Baga.
