ON Friday, December 1 at 7:35 a.m., Abbotsford Police patrol officers responded to the area of Wheel Avenue and Townline Road for a reported motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

First responders provided medical aid to the 43-year-old female who had sustained critical and life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. Impairment is not believed to have been a contributing factor.

The victim has been transported to hospital and remains in critical condition at this time.

Abbotsfod Police patrol members and members of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (I.C.A.R.S.) are on the scene and investigating.

Traffic has been stopped in the area due to the investigation.
