Single vehicle collision in Mission results in serious injuries to three occupants

MISSION RCMP frontline officers on Tuesday responded to a single vehicle collision that resulted in occupants being transported to hospital with serious injuries.

On March 19, at approximately 8:45 a.m., Mission RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision at Bell Road and Hawkins Pickle Road where a white SUV collided with a tree. There were four occupants in the vehicle, three of whom were trapped inside the vehicle.

North Fraser Fire Department attended to extract the occupants who were trapped as a result of the extensive vehicle damage. Three of the occupants were transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services and BC Air Ambulance Services with serious injuries.

Mission Traffic Services and the Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Services (ICARS) attended to assist with the investigation and CP Railway tracks were stopped for a period of time to allow for uninterrupted access for all Emergency Services.

Police said that at this time, alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision; however, nothing is being ruled out.

Police are seeking witnesses and dash camera footage from anyone that may have seen this vehicle driving in the immediate and surrounding areas.

This is an ongoing investigation and there are no further details available at this time, police said.

If you have information that could assist with the investigation, you are requested to contact the Mission RCMP directly at 604-826-7161.
