SURREY Police Staff-Sgt. Lindsey Houghton told The VOICE on Monday that police are investigating if one or more persons in the residence in Surrey’s Bear Creek neighbourhood that was targeted by extortionists on Saturday shot back at the attackers.
Police are investigating a ‘carelessly discharge a firearm’ incident.
At approximately 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, SPS officers responded to reports of shots fired outside a residence in the 8600-block of Galway Crescent. Police located a residence that had been damaged by gunfire. The residence was occupied at the time and, fortunately, nobody was injured.
SPS’s Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIS) attended and SPS’s Major Crime Section took conduct of the investigation.
