SURREY Libraries announced on Tuesday the upcoming retirement of its Chief Librarian Surinder Bhogal, who will be stepping down in January 2026 after 28 years of service.
It said: “Surinder has been a key part of our community, leading with vision and passion. We are grateful for her contributions and the positive impact she has made on our library system.”
Surrey Libraries said: “Surinder’s leadership has been marked by numerous achievements, including the development of innovative programs, the expansion of our digital resources, and the enhancement of our community outreach efforts. Her commitment to inclusivity and accessibility has left a lasting legacy.”
Bhogal said: “It has been an honour to serve as the Chief Librarian of Surrey Libraries. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and am confident that the Library will continue to thrive and serve our community well into the future.”
The Surrey Libraries Board and staff extended their heartfelt thanks to Bhogal for her unwavering dedication and leadership in creating welcoming spaces and supporting lifelong learning throughout Surrey.
