IN February of 2022, the Delta Police Department responded to what was reported as the overdose death of an 18-year-old woman. The death was determined to be suspicious, and an investigation followed.

In late November 2024, 28-year-old Travis Gallant of Surrey was arrested in the suspicious death. The BC Prosecution Service has approved charges of manslaughter and indignity to human remains against Gallant.

Gallant and the woman were known to each other and there is no risk to the public, police said. He remains in custody.

This matter is before the courts and no further information will be released, police said.
