SURREY MLAs Jagrup Brar, Garry Begg, Amna Shah and Jessie Sunner joined residents on July 2 at the BC Tigers Football Club’s Miri Piri Soccer Tournament at Newton Athletic Park. The annual tournament brought together athletes, families and supporters for a day of friendly competition, teamwork and community pride.
Constituency office staff hosted an information booth, providing provincial government resources and information to residents while distributing promotional items, including frisbees and reusable water bottles.
The event highlighted the important role of local organizations and volunteers in creating opportunities for families to connect through sport, recreation and community celebration. It also provided an opportunity for the MLAs to meet with residents, hear about local priorities and recognize the contributions of community leaders and volunteers.

By supporting grassroots organizations and community events, Surrey MLAs say they continue to celebrate the city’s cultural diversity while strengthening neighbourhood connections and fostering a welcoming, inclusive community for all.
