Surrey RCMP seek information in June arson investigation

SURREY RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in an arson investigation that occurred in June.

On June 29 at 3 a.m., officers responded to a residential fire in the 14000-block area of Grosvenor Road. The occupants of the home made it our safely, but sadly, one of family pets did not make it out and perished in the fire. The residence sustained substantial damage to the roof as a result.

Investigators conducted neighbourhood inquiries and an extensive CCTV canvass of the area determined that two unknown suspects were around the property, who allegedly set fire to a pile of belongings which caused the house to catch fire.

Suspect descriptions:

Suspect 1: medium build; wore a dark colour hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes.

Suspect 2: heavy build; wore a dark colour hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes; riding a BMX style bicycle.

Police on Thursday released a video of the suspects in order to advance the investigation.

Anyone with any information about this incident or anyone with dash camera footage who was in the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-93841.
