Police now say that the incident has been resolved and there are no safety concerns for the general public

SURREY RCMP are currently on scene for a police incident in the South Surrey area.

On Thursday at approximately 2:30 p.m., police responded to the 1300-block of 176th Street for a report of a distraught person.

Traffic northbound and southbound along 176th Street between 8th and 16th Avenues has been closed and motorists are being re-routed as a precaution.

The investigation is ongoing and being supported by multiple police units.
