SURREY’S popular Sounds of Summer outdoor live concert series returns this July, bringing eight free live performances to parks and public spaces across the city.
This year’s lineup features a diverse mix of music from rock and jazz to country and Punjabi fusion and more interactive experiences giving audiences a chance to get up on their feet with guided dance instruction from the performers. Attendees can learn line dancing on July 29, Punjabi folk dancing on August 19 and salsa dancing on August 26.
“This free concert series brings people of all ages together in Surrey’s beautiful outdoors,” said Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke on Monday. “By hosting performances in nearly every town centre and in both well-known and hidden-gem parks, we’re creating opportunities for people to connect through live, local music. These kinds of free and affordable events are an important part of making sure everyone can enjoy summer in our city.”
