ON March 13 at approximately 2:21 a.m., Langley RCMP responded to a report of an unknown man inside a residence located in the Aldergrove area of Langley.
It is alleged that the victim confronted the suspect and was assaulted during a brief struggle. Through conventional police techniques and various investigative avenues, investigators were able to identify and locate a suspect.
On August 19, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, break and enter of a dwelling house, and disguising face with intent to commit an offence against 29-year-old Christian James MacLean. That same day, investigators from Langley RCMP’s Serious Crime Section arrested MacLean in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Christian James MacLean was brought before the courts in New Brunswick, where he was remanded into custody pending arrangements for his return to British Columbia.
“As the matter is before the courts, no further details will be provided at this time,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of Langley RCMP. “The Court has ordered a publication ban regarding the identity of the victim.”
