THE Team BC wrestling team dominated at the 2025 Jurassic Classic and Dino Cup held in Calgary last weekend.
Both the men’s team and the women’s team were undefeated. They faced off against Team Ontario, Team Saskatchewan, Team North/Newfoundland, Team Alberta 1 and Team Alberta 2. Team BC are now three-time Dino Cup Champions in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
BC’s 24 wrestlers won 21 medals, including 11 Gold, 3 Silver and 7 Bronze.
There were participants from BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland, Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories.

The team’s head coaches were Gurjot Kooner and Sukhan Chahal. They were accompanied by assistant coach Jess Tang and physiotherapist Vic Sanghera of River District Physio.
Fifteen of the 24 wrestlers on the BC provincial team were South Asians – the most ever.
Of the 10 clubs that were represented on the provincial team, six of them are South Asian-based wrestling clubs from the Lower Mainland.
