TransLink says all services remain operational, though there may be delays

TRANSLINK said on Monday at 11:30 a.m. that its winter weather plan is active and extra staff are deployed to keep customers moving. While all services remain operational, there may be delays due to inclement weather.

Customers are advised to build in extra travel time, dress appropriately for the weather, and check their route by signing up for Transit Alerts or by calling TransLink Customer Information at 604.953.3333.

Here’s what customers should know for each mode:

SkyTrain

  • SkyTrain is running to all stations on all three lines.
  • SkyTrain Attendants are positioned at the front of trains to prevent emergency braking caused by snow and freezing temperatures, resulting in lower-than-usual frequencies.

Bus

  • There is normal service levels on every route.
  • As the weather changes, modifications to service may be made. Customers should check their specific route for impacts before going out.
  • TransLink is coordinating with municipalities to ensure priority roads are cleared.

HandyDART

  • HandyDART is prioritizing customers with medical appointments, work, or school as snow remains on many local or side roads.
  • Service availability may vary depending on local conditions.

SeaBus & West Coast Express

  • SeaBus and West Coast Express are running regular service.

Weather and road conditions change quickly and TransLink says it will continue to update customers through Transit Alerts.
