21-year-old robbery suspect arrested, charged following three incidents

SURREY RCMP responded on October 7 to a report of a robbery at a jewellery store in the 10100-block of King George Boulevard. The suspect broke the glass displays and allegedly stole jewellery valued at approximately $27,000.

The Surrey RCMP Robbery Unit took conduct of the investigation and identified two additional theft files involving the same suspect. Through extensive CCTV canvassing, an image of suspect was obtained and officers were able to successfully identify the man.

On November 7, the Surrey RCMP Robbery Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Shaughnessy Street in Coquitlam with the assistance of Surrey RCMP High Risk Target Team (HRTT) and Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team (ERT). Police seized evidence to support charges of robbery and recovered some of the stolen jewellery.

On November 8, 21-year-old Myheart William appeared in Surrey Provincial Court. William was charged with nine offences:

  • 3 counts of breach of release order;
  • 2 counts of disguise with intent;
  • Robbery;
  • Theft over $5,000;
  • Theft under $5,000; and
  • Mischief under $5,000.

William was remanded in custody pending his next court appearance.
