76th Indian Republic Day reception in Vancouver

INDIAN Consul General Masakui Rungsung hosted the 76th Indian Republic Day reception on Sunday in Vancouver, welcoming Susie Chant, Parliamentary Secretary for Seniors’ Services and Long-Term Care and responsible for BC Consular Corps, and Paul Choi, Parliamentary Secretary for Asia-Pacific Trade.

In his remarks, Rungsung highlighted India’s dynamic democracy and longstanding diplomatic, cultural, economic and people-to-people relations with Canada, while Chant praised BC’s deep-rooted historical ties with India and the role of vibrant Indo-Canadian community.

The reception was attended by about 270 people including dignitaries from the provincial government, MLAs, City Councillors, senior officials, BC consular corps, industry leaders, members of the ethnic media, academicians, Indian diaspora, and friends of India.
