81-year-old female pedestrian killed in Whalley crash in Surrey

SURREY Police Service (SPS) is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in the Whalley neighbourhood.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on February 11, a vehicle was eastbound in the 13800-block of 102 Avenue when it collided with an 81-year-old female pedestrian. Surrey Fire Services, BCEHS, and SPS Frontline members attended the scene. Despite life-saving measures, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. It does not currently appear that speed or impairment were contributing factors in the collision, police said.

SPS’s Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) attended the scene and have assumed conduct of the investigation.

Anyone with information about the collision, or who may be in possession of dashcam footage is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 25-14161 (SP).
