90-year-old victim in hit-and-run in Vancouver’s West End

VANCOUVER Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Vancouver’s West End, and are asking the driver, or witnesses, to call investigators.

The 90-year-old victim was crossing Burrard Street at Davie Street on February 28 between 12 and 12:30 p.m. with her daughter when she was struck by the driver of a bronze or brown SUV. The driver made a right turn onto Burrard from Davie and fled the area southbound on Burrard Street.

“We know there were several people that came to this woman’s aid at the time of the incident,” said Constable Tania Visintin on Wednesday. “Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision. We also want to speak to the driver of the bronze or brown SUV to determine what circumstances led up to the incident.”

The victim was taken to hospital for minor injuries and is now recovering at home.

Anyone with information is asked to call VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
