COQUITLAM RCMP are investigating a daytime drive-by shooting that occurred on Monday, February 10 at approximately 9:10 a.m.
Officers responded to multiple 911 calls about what was believed to be a shooting near Lea Avenue and Dogwood Street in Coquitlam. Police located an adult suffering from gunshot injuries. He was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the shooting, the victim’s vehicle collided with a nearby vehicle; however, no significant injuries were sustained.
Shortly afterwards, Burnaby RCMP responded to a vehicle fire, and investigators are working closely to determine if the two incidents are related.
Police believe this is a targeted incident and that there is no ongoing risk to the public. The Coquitlam RCMP General Investigation Section has assumed conduct of the investigation. Police will remain in the area during the initial stages of this investigation.
Police are asking for anyone who may have dash-cam, surveillance or cellphone video in the area between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on February 10 to contact Coquitlam RCMP and quote file number 2025-3451.
