VANCOUVER Police have located and re-arrested high-risk offender Johnny Lee Walkus, 37, in the Downtown Eastside.

Police on Thursday were searching for Walkus when he failed to return to his halfway house and was wanted Canada-wide.

Walkus had obtained statutory release from prison earlier on Thursday and had been ordered to live at a halfway house in Vancouver. He left shortly before 1:30 p.m. for a meeting with his parole officer, but didn’t show up for the meeting.
