THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over conduct of a homicide investigation in Surrey.
At approximately 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 15100-block of 60 Avenue. Members located a man apparently suffering from gunshot wounds. BCEHS attended the scene however despite life-saving efforts the man was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
CTV News reports that in a CCTV video provided to them, some 30 shots could be heard as a person screamed. Residents saw the victim being chased by two men in masks and hoodies chasing the victim and firing multiple rounds into him after he fell to the ground.
IHIT has now taken over the investigation and are working in partnership with SPS to complete priority investigative tasks.
