THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over conduct of a homicide investigation after a shooting in the 6800-block of 148 Street in Surrey left one person deceased and a second suffering from minor injuries.
At approximately 6:55 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, Surrey Police Service (SPS) frontline officers responded to reports of shots fired into a vehicle in the 6800-block of 148 Street.
Officers located an adult male apparently suffering from gunshot wounds. BCEHS and Surrey Fire Services attended, and the man was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second victim, an adult male, was found at the scene and they were transported to hospital with reportedly minor injuries.
No arrests have been made and at this early stage there is no suspect information available to share, police said.
IHIT has now taken over the investigation and are working in partnership with SPS to complete priority investigative tasks.
Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
