SURREY Police Service (SPS) is investigating a morning shooting outside a residence in the East Clayton neighbourhood, where one person sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
On Saturday, July 25 at approximately 8:03 a.m., SPS frontline officers responded to reports of a shooting near a residence in the area of 74 Avenue and 184 Street in Surrey, “where one person was injured enroute to the hospital for treatment and the suspect had fled the scene,” police said. Upon arrival at the scene, police noted evidence of shots fired.
The investigation is in its early stages; however, it is believed to be targeted and not extortion related.
SPS’s Major Crime Section has taken over the lead on the investigation, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) will be in the area processing physical and digital evidence.
Anyone with information about this incident, including CCTV or dashcam footage, or who may know the identities of the suspects is asked to contact SPS’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca and quote file number 26-77779 (SP).
