DRIVERS are advised to expect overnight delays on Highway 99 in Delta on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22 as crews install the remaining bridge girders for the 78th Street Overpass, the Ministry of Transportation and Transit announced on Thursday.
Work will require overnight northbound lane closures on Highway 99 between Highway 91 and Highway 17. The northbound lane closure will be in place overnight from 8 p.m. on Friday, August 21 until 5 a.m. on Saturday, August 22; and from 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 until 5 a.m. on Sunday, August 23.
During the closures, all northbound traffic, including commercial vehicles, will be detoured via Highway 91 and Highway 17. Highway 99 southbound will remain open.
Drivers should plan for additional travel time on Highway 99, Highway 91, Highway 17, Ladner Trunk Road and surrounding roads during the work.
Travellers are reminded to obey posted signage, follow directions from traffic-control personnel and use caution when travelling through construction zones.
