THE BC NDP said on Thursday that after calling a press conference to utter a series of vague platitudes related to the federal government’s pipeline announcement, Interim Conservative Leader Lorne Doerkson dodged half a dozen questions from reporters before calling it a day.
He avoided two direct questions about Anna Kindy’s vaccine misinformation, including whether he would name Kindy as health minister if the Conservatives formed government.
He failed to come to a coherent position in response to two questions on the North Coast Tanker Ban, despite having sat in a caucus that has unequivocally opposed it for years.
He dodged another two questions about whether he supported David Eby’s plan to crack down on price gouging from oil companies and save drivers up to $20 on a tank of gas.
And he yet again failed to explain how he’d pay for his own plan and reduce the deficit without making healthcare cuts.
The BC NDP added: “It’s no wonder the BC Conservatives are protecting him from follow-up questions that would allow journalists to probe his non-answers.
“It’s clearer than ever that British Columbians can’t afford conservative chaos, costs, and cuts.”
