THE Akal United FC 2024 Tournament at Surrey’s Newton Athletic Park and Kabaddi Park held from June 7 to 9 was a resounding success.
Over 250 teams participated in this tournament in various categories: kids (five-year-olds) teams, youth teams, open, under 40, under 50, and under 60.
Guru ka Langar provided by Dukh Nivaran Gurdwara Surrey was served all day on Saturday and Sunday. Club sevadaars cooked fresh pakoras, jalebis and bread pakoras that were served with tea, water and ‘dhodh soda.’
Headed by Akal United FC President Kulwant Hundal, the club committee, club members, coaches and all volunteers worked so hard to make the tournament a big success.
Akal United FCÂ registration is open for young players from five to 10 years old for the summer and winter seasons. Training schedule: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Kabaddi Park 7017 122 Street, Surrey (next to Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara). Games for the young players take place on Sundays at Newton Athletic Park.
