Alleged driver in Lapu Lapu Festival attack now faces 11 counts of second-degree murder

THE Vancouver Police Department’s investigation into the April 26 mass casualty incident at the Filipino Lapu Lapu Festival has resulted in additional second-degree murder charges against the alleged driver of the vehicle used in the incident.

Three additional charges were laid against Kai-Ji Lo on Tuesday morning, bringing the total number of counts to 11.

Lo, 30, was initially charged with eight counts of second-degree murder on April 27. The additional charges were approved by the BC Prosecution Service following a review of evidence submitted by Vancouver Police Homicide investigators.
