SURREY Police Service (SPS) announce on Wednesday night that the person who was the subject of a public appeal in an alleged sexual assault that occurred on Sunday, August 9 has now been identified by police.

At approximately 8:11 p.m. on August 9, SPS frontline officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in Bear Creek Park in Surrey. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the female victim who advised she was groped by an adult male and provided a description of the suspect who had fled from the area.

Officers conducted extensive patrols of the park and surrounding areas but were unable to locate the suspect. Fortunately, the victim was not physically injured.

SPS released images of the suspect on Wednesday morning in hopes that a member of the public would be able to identify the suspect.
