Altercation between members of same Surrey household leads to man’s death (update)

ON Wednesday, February 17 shortly after 8:30 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the 5500-block of 125 Street. Officers located a critically injured man outside the residence.

Surrey RCMP frontline members performed CPR and administered an AED. Shortly thereafter, BC Ambulance Service attended and provided treatment and care to the man as well; however, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) that was called in later said that an altercation between two members of the same household led to one man’s death, calling it “a tragic and isolated incident.”

It added: “One person has now been arrested and is in police custody.”
