SURREY RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating a shooting that occurred overnight in the Guildford area. On Thursday, November 21 at 9 p.m., police responded to a report of gunshots heard, and a vehicle collision in the 14600-block of 83rd Avenue.

Frontline officers located the vehicle which had collided with a fence, and found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This investigation is in its early stages, however police believe this to be a targeted incident. There is no indication of a continued risk to the public in relation to this incident.
