SURREY Police Service (SPS) is investigating a shots fired incident in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood that occurred Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, August 12 at 10:34 a.m., SPS was called by a homeowner of a residence in the area of 76 Avenue and 124 Street to report that they had found what they believed to be gunshot damage to an outbuilding on their property.
At 10:39 a.m., SPS frontline officers responded and confirmed that damage to the exterior of the outbuilding was caused by gunfire and that no one was injured.
At this time, it is unknown if this incident is extortion-related.
SPS is asking anyone who was in the area at the time and saw any suspicious activity, has dashcam footage, or lives in the area and has CCTV footage, or anyone who has information concerning the incident to contact SPS’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-85351 (SP).
