Arrest made in North Vancouver Airbnb break-and-enter

NORTH Vancouver RCMP have arrested a man in a break-and-enter investigation at an Airbnb.

On July 3, while a family visiting from the US were unloading their personal belongings into a residence that they were staying at in North Vancouver, the rear door of the residence was left open. A man was seen on CCTV stealing several items from the family.

Police launched an investigation. The CCTV footage of the theft was shared on social media and police received several tips.

On July 25, North Vancouver RCMP arrested a man believed to be responsible for the break-and-enter. He has since been released with a court appearance slated for October 23.

“This was a distressing and disruptive incident for the family visiting from the US,” said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for North Vancouver RCMP. “What was meant to be a memorable vacation has unfortunately turned into a frustrating ordeal. We hope this arrest brings the family some type of reassurance that the person responsible will be held accountable.”

Residents are encouraged to be mindful of their home security during these summer months and to report all suspicious persons and occurrences to North Vancouver RCMP.
