BC Liberal MLA Tracy Redies leaving politics

B.C. Liberal MLA Tracy Redies is quitting politics and will be taking over as CEO of Science World.

BC Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson in a statement on Wednesday said: “On behalf of the Official Opposition, I want to thank Tracy Redies for her service to the people of British Columbia and her community and her dedication to the BC Liberal team and congratulate her on her exciting new role as CEO of Science World, beginning in September.

“We wish Tracy all the best as she begins this next chapter. She’ll remain a part of our caucus as the MLA for Surrey-White Rock until August 31 and I can speak for everyone on our team when I say we’ll miss her expertise, professionalism, and passion for public service. I know this decision was not an easy one for her, but we’re all planning on keeping in touch with Tracy and looking forward to hearing about the great things she’s going to do in her new role.

“We look forward to hearing from Elections BC on next steps regarding what a by-election will look like in our current public health situation but want to ensure British Columbians that our priorities remain focused on their health, safety, and getting our economy back on track.

“Thank you again Tracy for your service to our province.”
