THE ​Leader of the Official Opposition ​and Health Critic Shirley Bond, in response to the government’s announcement of an independent review into its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, said on Wednesday, “A full review of the pandemic response has been something the Official Opposition has called for repeatedly,’ and added that the “announcement makes a mockery of our request for a full independent review.”

Bond added: “The NDP’s decision to severely limit the scope of the review is troubling but consistent with the government’s ongoing lack of transparency.”

She said: “A comprehensive review would include public health decisions and the government response to providing support to British Columbians. This review is designed to specifically ignore critical decisions made by cabinet and that is disappointing.

“A review that is limited in scope and provides no recommendations is not a review at all.”
