On “Friday Night Football” July 25th, 2014, the Blue Bombers will look to rebound from a rough loss in Week 4, as they take on a suddenly confident (2-2) BC Lions team at BC Place.
The BC Lions are coming off a huge high, after Lions come up with breakthrough performances against Alouettes last week. The B.C. Lions were double trouble for the over matched Montreal Alouettes, with Harris and Arceneaux’s outstanding performances
Geroy Simon became the CFL’s all-time leading receiver when Blue Bombers played here back in 2012 at BC Place Stadium. Simon’s No. 81 jersey is to be retired at halftime and again its the same The Bombers that are the opposing team.
The Bombers are 8-point underdogs against the Lions and O’Shea said the task in front of his team this week is a straight forward one. “I want to get back to winning,” said O’Shea. The Blue Bombers will be without DB Johnny Sears, which means Maurice Leggett will check into the lineup. Winnipeg head coach Mike O’Shea also said that DE Jason Vega won’t available against BC either. The Bombers haven’t won in BC since August 2011 and the Lions have lost just three times at home since the fall of that same year.
Some milestones may be reached this Friday:
Kevin Glenn (40,299): Needs 236 passing yards to pass Tracy Ham (40,534) and move into 9th spot all-time.
– Andrew Harris (2,841): Needs 159 rushing yards to reach 3,000 for his career.
– Paul McCallum (2,903): Needs 30 points to surpass Paul Osbaldiston (2,932) for #3 all-time.
A side not resulting out of Lions game , last Saturday against the Alouettes. Lions’ defensive end Khreem Smith was fined an undisclosed amount by the CFL Wednesday for a pre-game altercation.
