Bhartiya Kala Evam Sahitya Parishad celebrates Mother’s Day

BHARTIYA Kala Evam Sahitya Parishad (BKSP) – Indian Arts and Literary Council – a Metro Vancouver-based organization, celebrated Mother’s Day last Saturday via a Zoom meeting. The current global pandemic situation did not affect the spirit of the Indian literary community from British Columbia and Ontario.

BKSP connected many poets, singers and literary community members to express their love for their mothers through poems and songs with 23 participants, ages 7 to 65, either presenting their own work or reciting works of renowned poets. More than 50 families from BC and Ontario participated in this event and spent the Saturday evening together virtually as a big extended family.

Consul General of India in Vancouver, Abhilasha Joshi, also participated in the event and expressed her appreciation of the efforts of the BKSP team. She also expressed her gratitude towards all mothers and ‘Mother India.’
Dr. Ajay Garg coordinated the event with other BKSP team members. BKSP plans to organize more literary events for the community.
