Judges Anita Majumdar, Richie Mehta and Rupinder Nagra will travel to Vancouver for the open call auditions of OMNI’s Bollywood Star on Saturday, September 21st at the Vancouver Convention Centre,1055 Canada Pl.

The show’s judges are very well established in the film & South Asian communities. Anita Majumdar is originally from Port Moody, BC, and is an award-winning actress, playwright, and dancer. Richie Mehta is one of Canada’s most promising filmmakers, and his film Amal has earned more than 30 international awards, received six Genie Award nominations – including best picture, director, and adapted screenplay – and was named one of the decade’s top Canadian films by Playback Magazine. His most recent film Siddharth is having its North American premiere at TIFF 2013. Rupinder Nagra is an Indo-Canadian actor who has appeared in critically acclaimed film projects around the world, including Amal.

With an annual output several times that of Hollywood, Bollywood cinema is home to some of the world’s biggest and brightest entertainers. Anita, Rupinder and Richie are coming to Vancouver to see if they can find someone who has what it takes to be the industry’s next big star!
