BURNABY RCMP are asking for public assistance in identifying either of two suspect pickup trucks involved in the theft of a $100,000 Bobcat loader.
On the afternoon of Sunday, November 30, two pickup trucks, one hauling an empty flat deck trailer, arrived in the area of Midlawn Drive and Westlawn Drive in the Brentwood area of North Burnaby.
A short time later, the same two pickup trucks left the area; this time with a stolen Bobcat loader, worth approximately $100,000, on the flat deck trailer.
The suspect trucks are described as follows:
Suspect truck 1:
- Dark coloured pickup truck
- Believed to be a Chevy Silverado
- Black tonneau cover
- Distinct silver or grey gas door on the driver’s side
- Lower part of the truck’s body is a lighter colour
- Towing a flat deck trailer

Suspect truck 2:
- Red pickup truck
- 2-door
- Believed to be a Ford Ranger
“This is more than an inconvenience to the owner. This is a hundred-thousand-dollar theft.” said Cpl. Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP on Tuesday. “If you recognize either of the suspect vehicles or have any knowledge of this incident, our investigators would like to hear from you.”
