ARTHAUS Community in partnership with Coalition Music and Canada’s Music Incubator, has launched the South Asian Music Accelerator (SAMA). SAMA is a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to support emerging South Asian artists across Canada. Applications are now open and will close on August 15 at 11:59 p.m. PST.
Also supporting the program as SAMA Artist Ambassador is international music executive Ikky: “SAMA is a guide for artists, producers, writers, and music executive hopefuls who have aspirations to enter the music industry, while learning how to command their business. I’m proud to support this program.”
SAMA was born from a simple truth: South Asian talent has always existed, but now, the infrastructure is finally catching up. At a time when South Asian music is gaining global visibility, SAMA is building the bridge between culture and industry to ensure this moment becomes a movement.
The accelerator includes a dynamic blend of online and in-person programming, spanning artist development, business strategy, and identity-centered career navigation. Selected participants will join curated mixers, connect with industry professionals, and take part in hands-on workshops designed to equip them with the tools and connections needed to thrive in today’s music landscape.
“In cities across Canada, there’s a cultural renaissance unfolding and South Asian voices are leading it,” said ArtHaus Co-Founder Sandy Pandya, a veteran in the Canadian music industry. “SAMA is about honouring those voices, investing in their growth, and giving them the platform they’ve always deserved.”
