CFSEU-BC and Kamloops RCMP seize 11 illegally possessed firearms and illicit drugs

FROM December 9 to 12, the Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) , in partnership with the Kamloops RCMP Detachment, conducted a targeted, intelligence-led enforcement operation focused on disrupting violent gang activity and drug trafficking in the City of Kamloops.

Over the four-day initiative, UGET officers were strategically deployed throughout Kamloops, with particular attention to the North Shore and other areas identified through ongoing intelligence, enforcement priorities, and community safety concerns. As a result of these coordinated efforts, officers seized significant quantities of illicit drugs, firearms, and cash believed to be linked to organized criminal activity.

Seizures from the operation included:
• 11 illegally possessed firearms;
• 1.75 kilograms of illicit drugs, including suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and crystal methamphetamine; and
• Additional weapons and cash believed to be associated with drug trafficking.

“This operation highlights the strength of our partnership with the Kamloops RCMP and our shared commitment to community safety,” said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha, Media Relations Officer, CFSEU-BC. “By removing illegal firearms and toxic drugs from our streets, we reduce the risk of violence and disrupt criminal networks that prey on vulnerable individuals. CFSEU-BC will continue working closely with police agencies across the province to target those engaged in gang and drug-related activity.”

“Through coordinated efforts and intelligence sharing between the Kamloops RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and CFSEU’s UGET officers we continue to leverage every opportunity to disrupt those intent on causing harm to our communities, through violence and illicit drugs”, said Superintendent Jeff Pelley, Officer in Charge of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.
