Charges laid in East Vancouver railway blockade

THIRTEEN people have been charged with mischief for their alleged roles in an unlawful protest that blocked a railway in East Vancouver in May.

BC Prosecution Service approved the charges on Monday, following Vancouver Police’s investigation into the actions of protesters on May 31, when a large group of people blocked a rail line near Kaslo Street and Grandview Highway.

The 13 accused are all adults. They will appear in court on September 9.
