COLLISION, one of the world’s largest tech conferences, will be coming to Metro Vancouver in May 2025.
Hosted by Web Summit, Collision attracts more than 35,000 attendees from over 130 countries. The conference brings together thousands of international thought leaders with the brightest minds in tech, unicorn founders, investors, startups, and media redefining the global tech industry.
The conference will be rebranded as Web Summit Vancouver and will promote the Metro Vancouver region’s international advancement as a hub for entrepreneurship, technological and scientific excellence, and multiculturalism.
“Web Summit Vancouver will attract a global audience and showcase our growing and innovative tech sector. Across the Metro Vancouver region, we have a high concentration of tech talent, world-renowned educational institutions, and a supportive ecosystem that nurtures innovators of tomorrow. Hosting an internationally recognized event like Collision will attract investments and propel our tech sector as a global hub,” said George V. Harvie, Chair of Metro Vancouver’s Board of Directors, on Wednesday.
Lead by Destination Vancouver, a consortium of organizations — including the Province of BC, the Government of Canada, the City of Vancouver, and Metro Vancouver’s Invest Vancouver — worked together to bring Collision to Vancouver. Bringing the conference to the Metro Vancouver region can generate $172 million in direct spending and $279 million in overall economic impact for the region and BC.
“Industry leaders across the region have a role to play in amplifying economic opportunities for residents. When Web Summit comes to Metro Vancouver, we will have the opportunity to showcase the region and highlight the advantages we have to offer. This is our opportunity to come together and strengthen our competitive edge in economic development to a global market,” said Linda Buchanan, Chair of the Invest Vancouver Management Board.
