Columbia SkyTrain Station closed because of medical emergency (update)

FRIDAY MORNING UPDATE:

SkyTrains are back to normal functioning

10:10 PM UPDATE:

Columbia Station remains closed as part of a police investigation. There is no estimated time for when the station will reopen. Bus bridges remain in place between Braid, New Westminster and Scott Road Stations. Check @TransLink on Twitter for updates.

A medical emergency at Columbia Station is causing a disruption to Expo Line service between New Westminster, Braid and Scott Road Stations.  

Columbia Station is closed for the time being. Expo Line trains are turning back at New Westminster, Braid and Scott Road Stations.

A bus bridge is being set up to transport customers between the three stations. 

Millennium and Canada Lines are unaffected, and are running normally. Additional security and Transit Police are at the stations to ensure passenger safety and crowd control. 

Riders seeking alternative routes to SkyTrain are encouraged to consult TransLink’s Trip Planner (http://tripplanning.translink.ca) online, and select “Don’t Use SkyTrain” under advanced search settings, or contact our customer information desk (604-953-3333) for trip planning advice.

Bus Bridge replacing Expo Line service between New Westminster Station & Braid Station, and New Westminster Station & Scott Road Station:

New Westminster Station:
– Eastbound/Westbound Bay 3 stop 61650 on Columbia St outside bus loop.

Scott Road Station:
– Eastbound/Westbound: Bay 3 stop 58150

Columbia Station:
– Eastbound/Westbound: Stop 52331 westbound on Columbia at Fourth St.
– To Production: Stop 52317 eastbound on Columbia at Fourth St

Braid Station:
– Eastbound/Westbound: HandyDART Stop 58709 (in front of Bay 6)

Customers at Sapperton Station will need to take the train to Braid Station to board.
